Les Deux Alpes is one of the best European downhill biking areas! The sun shines and the atmosphere is awesome. After coming down from days biking you can go swimming, skateboarding or jumping in trampolin and much more! Numerous activities will guarantee that your stay at the camp won’t get boring!

PARK AND LINES

The number and variety of lines and the use of bike lifts, make MTB and DH riding possible in Les Deux Alpes throughout the summer. The resort has put an effort when planning their slopes and tarcks suitable for downhill bikers.
Les 2 Alpes is simply great for all levels of riders! It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or a pro, you will find the most suitable tracks for you! There are two continious trails with a drop off 2500m, which are also used for Free Raid, Mountain of Hell and Downhill French Cup competitions.

COACHING

In the summer 2012 Paromcamps organizes two Downhill Biking camps in Les 2 Alpes. Our coaches are French pro riders and the names will be confirmed later on spring. Our coaches will get your riding skills in shape. Paromcamps filmer will be shooting material throughout the whole camp. The actuall riding and training material will be analysed personally with the coaches. A video of the camps is released later on autum.

Both camps are for any level of riders, and we will separate the groups by theirskills (beginners, advanced and pros). Parom’s focus is on making everybody enjoy biking, improving their skills and learning new tricks. We’ll make sure that the group spirit hits the ceiling! You will get loads of new friends and good memories from our camp. This will be the definitely best riding trip ever!

ACCOMMODATION

The accommodation is in apartments of 2 persons. All apartments are equipped with cooking possibilities and balconies with a beautiful mountain view. Our apartments are located right next to the gondolas and only 200 meters away from the centre and services of the village.

VILLAGE

Les 2 Alpes is a small, idyllic Alpine village with diverse services. You will find everything you need from several inexpensive skate and ski/snowboard shops. There are also restaurants, internet cafés and sweet smelling bakeries in every corner. Even though the town itself isn’t massive, you won’t get bored! Skateboarding, tennis, swimming, basketball, golf, rock climbing or archery – the list of activities is endless! The curvy roads also provide you with a great opportunity to longboard or if you just want to chill out in side for a while, you can take a ride with 4D-avalanche simulator.

Before the camp we send you further information including camp rules for under 18 years old travellers. During the camp our hostesses will be available 24/7. Paromcamps team with hostesses, coaches, chef and cameraman will ensure you get the most out of your holidays.

Erkka Siivola

Erkka, originally from Rovaniemi rides in his local resort, legendary Ounasvaara. Snowboarding has been his passion nearly a decade and it fills up big part of Erkkas’ life nowadays. Training new tricks in Ounasvaara, touring the competitions nationally and filming in street spots with his other snowboarder friends keeps this guy busy during the winters. As for the summers, he trains new tricks in Paroms’ Freestyle Camps in Les 2 Alpes, France. Besides snowboarding Erkka mentions skateboarding, trampoline and gymnastics as his hobbies.

Emma Kanko

Emma started skiing at the age of 8. Couple of years later she changed her gear to snowboard as she got exited about the guys doing all those incredible tricks in the park. She also started to practice the tricks with the guys. The first competition came into picture during the season 2011 and it has been an upswing ever since. In the spring she also got the idea to apply to Sotkamo sport high school for riders and the door opened for her at the same autumn. Emma spent her summer practicing new tricks at Parom Freestyle Camp in Les 2 Alpes, France. This hardworking girl was rewarded as she got the opportunity to be part of Finnish Olympic Snowboarding Team for juniors. The Olympics are held in Austria during January 2012. Emma competes in both slopestyle and half-pipe. In snowboarding, her aim is to learn as many new tricks as possible, get experience from the competitions and of course meet loads of good people. Besides of snowboarding her hobbies are horseback riding and tennis.

Parom Tour x Svanstein

13-18th of March Paromcamps has a trip to Svanstein Ski resort, up North in Sweden. This legendary yet renewed resort has something for everyone. Different level of pistes (altogether 16), excellent back terrain with tons of fresh powder and last but not least, the longest terrain park in Finland. Scandinavian Shapers together with pro riders designed and built the park with features, such as rails, boxes, jibs and other obstacles.

The Destination Generally

The trip starts from Helsinki (13th of March afternoon), where the buss transport is organized across Finland, stopping on every major cities on the way. More precise buss schedule will be informed at the beginning of March. We’ll entertain passengers with snowboarding and Free-skiing movies during the trip which lasts a bit over 7 hours.

Our package includes pretty much everything you’ll be needing: Buss-transportation//accommodation in 4-persons’ apartments//lift-tickets//coaching for both snowboarders and free skiers//Bagjump//Evening activities.

The Slopes And Off-Pistes

Svanstein Ski Resort has 16 slopes where every level of rider can find his own. The steepness of the slopes is varying from easy ones situated in fron to more challenging at back side of the resort. Addition to well groomed pistes there is plenty of great back terrain covered with fresh powder to make turns.

Park and Natural Hits

More than 2 km long terrain park is the longest in Finland. The entire park is totally renewed and it offers jibbing for everyone with features, such as rails, boxes, corners, wall-rides and other obstacles. During Parom x Svanstein week, our campers can use Bagjump for free and unlimitedly.

Terrain park in Svanstein Ski resort has it’s own lift which guarantees repetitiveness for park riding. Scandinavian Shapers has designed the obstacles together with pro riders. Terrain park is a greta place to practice weather you are a beginner or more advanced rider.

The Village and Accommodation

Accommodation in Svanstein Ski Resort has been arranged in 4 persons’ apartments nearby the slopes. These cozy totally renewed apartments all have private bathrooms and small kitchenette for cooking. All other services are by the walking distance from the accommodation and slopes.

Chamonix, Freeriding camp 18-25th of February

Paroms’ Freeriding Camp in Chamonix on February is a dream come true for everyone interested in riding backcountries. During the week you have change of riding snowy off-pistes with our UIAGM-licensed Mountain Guide Ode Siivonen and a recognized free-skier Skipe Oivo. Skiing and snowboarding in Chamonix valley with Mont Blanc views will astonish even experienced riders.

We start our week by snow and avalanche theory training. Getting familiar with security, snow composition, avalanche safety equipments and how to move back terrains and avalanche risk areas. Within the freeriding camp the issues are also being trained in practice.

During the first day our coaches will survey the level of skiers and snowboarders. The actual riding will be done in small groups where the members of the group will approximately be same level with skills. Every level of skier and snowboarder can participate the camp. During the week you get familiar with different backcountries of Chamonix Valley. We also visit Courmayeur, which is across the boarder in Italy, only half an hour drive from Chamonix. (If the weather allows) End of the week will be rewarded with an excursion to Vallee Blanc. This legendary nearly 20 kilometers long off-piste route down from Aiguille du Midi has breathtaking views and good powder to hunt.

During the Freeriding week we accommodate in a luxurious chalet located nearby Chamonix down town. (We also have participants accommodating in apartments near down town). The Chalet is built in three storey, bedrooms and bathrooms in downstairs, you can also find a space for equipment. The entrance floor has a huge kitchen for cooking, big comfortable dining area, and a cozy living room with fireplace. More bedrooms can be found from the third floor. Wonderful terrace with jacuzzi is on the south side of valley and its bathed in sunshine. The chalet’s huge double height glazing frames Mont-Blanc perfectly. The distance from down town is less than 10 min./to ski-bus 3-4 min.

Accommodating together you will have a possibility to meet people with similar interest and perhaps to keep in touch even after the trip.

Allu Penttala

Allu trains park riding comprehensively in Vihti Ski almost daily basis. For the past two summers he’s been also part of Parom freestyle camps in Les 2 Alpes. Despite of his young age Allu has been riding for ages and it starts to show in his competition results. He has been actively participating the national competitions as much as possible. Allu started his snowboarding in a rather typical way, first he skateboarded which has remained as his favorite summer hobby. He also spends time doing golfing, wakeboarding and fishing.

Malla Partanen

Despite of her young age Malla rides as an oldschooler. Gymnastics as hobby and being a bit a “crazy” personality has helped Malla to practice tricks that many girls are not daring to try. This determent and positive personality will get far in the future. Malla studies in Sotkamo sport high-school as part of the snowboarding class.

Having a versatile background in sports has given a strong ground for doing snowboarding. Milla studies nowadays in Vuokatti sport high-school as part of the snowboarding class. She has progressed as a rider in a short period of time. After hard practicing she has been succeeding in the competitions as well. Milla is a perfect team member for Parom, she is always in a good mood and inspires other with her personality.

TIWALI snowboarding street team got their name of the words “This Is What A Life Is”, emphasizing the idea of riding with a positive attitude. Team members are all female riders having fun in their free time, whether it’s riding a park or just hanging around together. Otto Veijola

Otto is truly a happy and a charming person. He has actively toured the competitions and filmed snowboarding movies both nationally and internationally. Among his studies he coaches Finnish Snowboarding Association park rides. Since 2011 summer Otto has been part of Parom’s team by training the campers in Les 2 Alpes snow park. After the excellent feedback from the youngsters we decided to continue the cooperation. Otto will be coaching in the camps during the season 2012.
