Markus Woertler

Parom Camps’ backcountry lead guide, Markus Woertler, lives and breathes guiding and skiing powder. His passion for the mountains is matched only by his knowledge and experience.

For over a decade, Markus split his time between New Zealand’s South Island and Switzerland’s highest peaks. He has worked as a snow safety officer and avalanche forecaster, and now shares that expertise with our backcountry guests.

Markus has been based in Hokkaido over a dacade—first as a cat-ski lead guide near Niseko, then as a freeride specialist, helping guests discover the magic of Hokkaido powder. His love for ski touring means you’ll also have the chance to enjoy long, rewarding days—or even multi-day backcountry adventures. When he’s not guiding, Markus is usually out in the mountains himself, skiing, biking, or climbing.
